Our Deepest Desires Can Trigger Our Fears

February 12, 2026 by Nicola Walker

Woman sitting on top of rocky outcrop contemplating sweeping vistas, as she faces the vast unknown in her life.If you want to feel inspired and alive, focus on what you most deeply desire and notice what happens. Do you feel excited, nervous or conflicted? Our deepest desires can trigger our fears.

Whatever you notice is like gold when you have the courage to drop deep into your truth, face your fears, unravel doubts and limiting beliefs and follow what calls you.

Following what calls you gives you a sense of purpose and meaning. Purpose  ignites a glow of joy in your heart, that comes from knowing something is right for you, even if it feels daunting. Your journey becomes an evolutionary adventure in strengthening trust in yourself and the Universe.

Trust and the courage to step out of your comfort zone and listen to your intuition is never a one shot deal.

It’s more like Groundhog Day, knowing yet again you have to ground yourself in your power, calm your nervous system if it got activated, and connect with your intuitive guidance for your next steps.

This is how I live my life and I love it because I feel alive, excited about moving forward, often by inches, but I see the progress. I receive the signs that the Universe has my back, that we’re co-creating.

Be intentional even when you don’t yet have clarity and the unknown feels like standing on the edge of a cliff.

Dedicate at least a certain amount of time each day to your heart and a dream you can seize and choose to realize.

Some days you might uplift your spirits by just imagining having your deep desire in your life already — a good use of time if you are serious about manifesting it.

As many days as you can, you want to focus on your deep desire or intention and tend to it like you would a garden. As you feed it with your attention it will become more clear and alive. You will receive intuitive guidance to help you with it, especially if you ask.

What you desire has a message for you. Your dream will guide you to it when you give it your energy and focus.

You have the power to get clear and create what you long for, whether it’s something tangible in the outer world, or an inner quality you want to cultivate. Our deepest desires can trigger our fears because they signal a greater destiny that awaits us.
