Enthusiasm can wane. What once excited you, may not necessarily continue to do so. Your big yes can suddenly feel like a strain. What to make of this sudden change that goes against all plans and expectations? It’s time to drop deeper to find your truth.
I sometimes feel deeply humbled by life’s waves of change. Which way now? Do I still go ahead with my plan because that’s what I planned?
Whenever I have made myself stick with the program, despite nagging concerns, I just prolonged the inevitable. In the end, whether it was a job, a client, a creative idea or relationship, my misgivings turned out to be well-founded.
It turned out it would have been better to acknowledge that something wasn’t feeling right and listen deeper to the messages I was getting from my intuitive guidance.
All the same, just because you are suddenly feeling weary or tense about what once felt so compelling, doesn’t mean to say that it’s the wrong choice. You just want to check in with yourself.
In some cases, it can be that our fears are masquerading as intuition. Feeling jittery, focusing on situations that didn’t turn out well in the past or your own perceived inadequacies show that you are listening to your mind, rather than your wise self.
The first thing to do is hit the pause button.
Give yourself some space to double check whether fear or wisdom is guiding your actions.
Get grounded by taking a few deep breaths. Release yourself from the whirlwind of thoughts in your head. Drop deeper to find your truth. Your heart knows what’s right.
Get curious. If you were sitting with the intuitive part of you that can see the big picture, the one who knows deep down, what would you ask it?
Begin with what’s happening now. Such as, “I’m feeling a tightness in my ribs when I think about taking this job.” Or, “I feel anxious about having booked my event or meeting on this date.”
How do you know whether the tightness or anxious feelings are fear or guidance?
You’ll instinctively know fear once you face it. Your intuition won’t let you follow your fears once you’ve shined a light on them.
Turn to your intuition as if it were a person and ask it for help. Ask a question.
“Is this the right job for me?” Or, “Would it be better to reschedule?” Or, “What am I afraid of?”
You can do this for anything. A business idea, a job, a relationship, a potential move or simply whether to go to a party or other social event.
The more you delve deeper for truth, the more familiar you become with your intuitive guidance.
Why it is important to double check your choices and decisions.
It’s easy to go into our head and our thoughts about what we should and shouldn’t do. When we do this, we get confused. Our intuition gets tangled up with our beliefs, our needs and ideas about ourselves and life.
The mind is tricky. It will try to convince you that a job or client is right for you because it will give you the money that you are currently believing can only come from that job or client.
What is driving you? Money fears, or your desire to choose the job or client that will satisfy your greatest fulfillment and genuine flourishing?
It’s best to step out of the sticky web of your mind’s convictions and give yourself a break from living in your head.
Relax until you can feel your heart and hear the whispers of your intuitive guidance.
You might hear a whisper such as, “This is for you.” Notice the whispers that feel right. Feel your inner yes and a thrill of excitement, even if there are some fears and doubts that you need to and can overcome as you gain confidence and a greater trust in your power.
Automatic reactions and responses don’t necessarily arise from wisdom. You gain strength by acknowledging discomfort and choosing to drop deeper to find your truth, even if it’s inconvenient or scary.
Be willing to walk to the edge of your own consciousness and discover what’s real. Wake up to the aliveness of the fullness of who you are. Trust your intuitive knowing.
Your intuition knows who you are and the direction that is most true for you. There is no travel insurance on the intuitive plane of existence. Trust that the Universe has got your back and even if you fall down, the only way forward is up. Make dropping deeper to find your truth a way of life.
