Life is full of turning points. That moment when the job, career or relationship doesn’t feel right anymore. You can sense it. Something new is calling you. A change, a new direction. At the same time, you cling to the edge of the chasm between old and new. Intuitively you know, yet your mind resists. It’s time to trust and let your inner guidance show you the way.
All the same, as humans we find security in what is familiar and predictable. Any hint of looming change disrupts our sense of calm like sudden waves in a pond. We try to fend off change by clamping down our feelings and inner whispers.
We prefer to trust the thoughts in our head over our intuition, the inner guidance that is always present and ready to smooth out our path, when we listen.
Our inner guidance helps us to find our true north purpose and ultimate happiness.
When I was in my twenties, I was consumed with my desire for an acting career. I eventually achieved my dream and acted in theater professionally. Then, one day I woke up feeling that I didn’t want to do acting anymore. I was astounded. This was my dream! I heard a small voice inside me whisper, “There’s something else.” I felt confused.
Miraculously, I trusted this sudden, sweeping void. This was the first time, as far as I was aware of, that I had encountered a voice that wasn’t the usual voice in my head.
Your intuition, which functions as your inner guidance, can see the big picture.
I was right to listen, trust and follow my inner guidance. It was scary at first as I faced a new unknown. I didn’t know what was next.
Then one night, I had a lucid dream. I dreamt that there was a white dove suspended before me as I lay in my bed. I reached out to switch on the light and gasped. The dove was gone. Eagerly, I searched for meaning, intuitively knowing that I had received a powerful message from the Divine.
A white dove can symbolize many things. For me, it felt like it was both reassuring me that I was doing the right thing by following my inner guidance and that a new direction was unfolding. I was where I was supposed to be.
Soon after, I began writing. I became fascinated with screenwriting for a while and wrote a few scripts. I wrote my first ever article, which was all about change and sold it to a magazine. I didn’t miss acting. I used my imagination in different ways, and followed a series of synchronistic events to suddenly find myself opening spiritually and experiencing life as a series of doors, one opening up to another.
Trust that there is a big picture for your life and your soul’s ever evolving journey.
We didn’t come here to stay put and stay safe to abide by our ego’s fears. The Universe is benevolent. Intend that all is well, that your needs will be taken care of and they will.
Navigating life is about discerning between intuition and the thoughts in your head, which stem from fear, logic and conditioning.
Which voice do you listen to?
You know when you are following fears and getting caught up in your head. It doesn’t feel good. You get frustrated, or feel stuck. Things don’t work out so well and you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders.
It is exhilarating to listen to your heart and discover where it takes you. Trust your intuitive wisdom. Let your inner guidance show you the way towards your brightest, highest destiny.
